Keeping your BullGuard Gamers' Edition up-to-date

 

New viruses are found and identified every day. This is why it is very important to keep BullGuard Gamers' Edition up-to-date with the latest virus definitions.

 

If you are connected to the Internet through broadband or DSL, BullGuard Gamers' Edition takes care of this itself: it checks for new definitions when you turn on your computer and every 8 hours after that (by default). If any new virus definitions are available, BullGuard Gamers' Edition will update itself.

 

If you are connected to the Internet through a dial-up connection, BullGuard Gamers' Edition will check for updates immediately after you connect to the Internet.

  Connect to the Internet

 

 

 

 

  Check for updates 

 

 

 

First, double-click the icon in your System Tray (near the clock):

 

 

 

 

Then go to Main > Overview and click the Check & Update button, as seen in the image below: 

 

 

 

 

 

  Updates 

 

 

 

If no update is found then the “BullGuard is up-to-date” message will appear. This simply means that... your BullGuard Gamers' Edition is fully up-to-date :)

 

 

 

 

If an update is found, it is displayed in the window:

 

 

 

 

  Get available updates
 

 

 

Next, you should click the Update button. The download will begin:

 

 

 

 

 

 

That's it - your BullGuard Gamers' Edition is now updated!

 

 

  Settings

 

 

 

If you're a more advanced user, you can also take a look at the settings for the update module. These are found in the same BullGuard Gamers' Edition tab, by pressing the Settings button:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Notification levels: choose how you want to be notified when BullGuard Gamers' Edition updates. This goes from completely silent updates, to detailed info on every update.

•  Update frequency: choose how often you want BullGuard Gamers' Edition to check for updates. BullGuard Gamers' Edition always checks for updates right after it is launched, and then every X hours.
