confused

I got this by downloading an active x control i think (stupid move.... I know)

It looks like I have the same thing as this other user....

Also note that I tried a few different tools such as superantispyware and when it hits a certain(not sure which one) registry key the computer restarts. If in Safe mode however, the software runs fine and doesn't pick up the virus.

I tried running combofix.exe and it wouldn't launch in normal or safemode.

Neither would hijackthisinstall.exe, so I copied the folders over from this pc to the infected laptop.

I changed the name of combofix.exe to 1x.exe and ran it. It worked!! Everything seems to be fine now.
