| hi,
I don't have much knowledge about viruses. Currently I'm using a trial version of bullguard and I was amazed by the virus activity on my PC. This convinced me that I should sign up for bullguard to protect myself year round.
Anyway, most of the viruses could be disinfected or moved to quarintine where I deleted them later. Today I did another virus scan and I found another couple of viruses. Unfortunately, Bullguard cannot move them into quarintine, nor can they be deleted by the program.
Here comes my question. Are viruses small files or can regular files become infected by viruses. If viruses are their own files, then I assume I could simply delete them. But if they are attached to other files, then I'm guessing that deleting them could cause further problems (if those files are required in the future).
Here are the name of the viruses that cannot be moved and/or disinfected by bullguard:
- Trojan.Downloader.Agent.AB
- Trojan.Spy.BiSpy.C
What should I do about them? Can I simply go to the file and delete them myself?
One more question: How do those viruses get on my PC in the first place? I'm purposely not using Outlook and use an html based email service. I never open any attachements from people I don't know. Can viruses be transferred to your computer by simply surfing web sites?
thanks for the help.
