Hello,
I Have recently installed AVAST antivirus on my two computers which has brought a number of trojans to my attention.
It is currenlty saying that i've got the following;

COMPUTER 1 HAS:
WIN32:trojan-gen {other}
JS:Packed-A[Trojan]
JS:Aspxor-A[trojan]

COMPUTER 2 HAS:
JS:Agent-AV[trojan]

Computer 2 shares computer 1's files.

I'm not a computer whiz [by any stretch of the imagination!] but i'll do my best to understand your instructions.

I've also found another problem with COMPUTER 1 which may well be linked to these trojans. I have successfully uninstalled the previous antivirus from computer 2 but the program doesn't even show up on 'install/uninstall programs' on computer 1. So i dont have anywhere to uninstall it. There are a number of other program that show up in the list of programs but when i select them, it doesn't give me the option to remove. [some of these programs i would like to eventually remove as they were put on by other people]

I'm afraid i spent sometime today [before i found your wonderful website] deleting things so i may have made the problem worse. [Sorry] eg. I deleted the previous Antivirus folder in 'Start/all program' [and no there wasn't an uninstall file in the folders, i looked] so now i dont even know where to look for evidence of the previous antivirus program. The only reason i know its still on the computer somewhere is because there is an icon in the bottom right hand side of the taskbar.

Thank you for your time.
cheers

 I'll do my best to help. First: If both computers are connected...I suggest a temporary dis-connection. Then run this program on each computer. Hopefully You can access the internet on both computers independantly Follow this link to Microsoft Live One Care Safety Scanner and Chose "FULL SCAN"    http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm?s_cid=sah/?s_cid=sah  Run on both machines.  This program will solve many problems. P.S. I feel your pain! Technology can be over-whelming at times. If I,m not signed in you may send a message to "sign in" .....at alantaylor@roadrunner.com Will do my best respond in a timely manner. (I build and service computers in my home) I am head of a shipping dept where I work full-time. anyway let me know how this works for you....good luck!
