This doesn't go anywhere else so I figured I'd put it here in hopes someone from the Bullguard staff can address it. It's not really an issue just yet but I can see the problem in the future if someone got smart.

Bullguard's got a firewall. Good to know and it's easy to use, even better for newbie users. However, why is Bullguard automatically allowed to get updates and such? It wouldn't take too much to route to a different site and get something spoofed as an update (run as arbitrary code, etc?) if the program emulated the update side of Bullguard. Just curious.

IMHO, a really good firewall would question everything going through the NIC, regardless of whether or not the program trying to get out is its own parent program.

I have to agree with you there. My fireall ask me if it can check for updates, gives you a professional sence of security, though im sure it has enough measures to make sure nothing can spoof the program
