Over the last couple of days I have been greeted with a very irritating "Debugging Console Enabled; Bot started and connect to 1.xdgz.com" window everytime I turn on my computer. I can close the window but after a few minutes it opens up again. Eventually, it interferes with my internet connection. If I control/alt/delete a mystery process that appears is wjserc.exe.
That Simon sounds like a virus, you can delete that in regedit and if Your OS has system restore by all means shut it off. viruses tend to write themselves in there to be annoying. If you are running XP on your computer then try bullguard. One other thing Simon, you might want to get a spyware program one good free one is ad-aware 6 do custom scans they get everywhere man. Cw schredder is another and spybot is also good but read the directions before installing it can cause minor glitches with some programs. good luck and keep me posted.
Should I delete the wjserc.exe in my registry through regedit?
P.S. I installed the Bullguard 2 month free trial and spybot (and I also had turned off my system restore) 8 days ago after I reformatted my C drive because Trojans had eaten it alive! I uninstalled the spybot because I thought the "Bot started ... " was coming from this program.
yes delete the wjserc.exe all you have to type in the window is wkserc that's all it should find it and all files associated with it then delete them,I'm presuming that you had no antivirus when you downloaded BG, especially norton. the puppy does not like norton. The bot thing may have taken out a program that was blocking what kept that out. I found out the hard way with that you read directions first! good luck and keep me posted.
After I deleted the wjserc.exe from the registry, the virus mutated to ntvdm.exe, which I then deleted from the registry. I haven't seen the annoying window pop up so maybe I am clean. I have downloaded adaware 6 and will do a scan. Thanks for the help!! Eagle, you are the best and please keep up the good work!
