One suggestion I thought of if its possible to maybe be able to snif out a firewall. I have a 2wire gateway and it came with a firewall built in. I was having major problems with internet and shutting down becuase both of the firewalls were working at the same time. I did finally shut down the firewall on the gateway and it seems to be flying now. unfortunately, I don't think windows can see a gateway firewall because it kept telling me before that a firewall was not detected even though I had one on the gateway. But its just a thought
