I know one thing that I really like in other programs when im running an anti-virus scan is a pause button during scanning, because often you begin a complete scan, and it takes up a large amount of resources, and then someone im's you, or try to do something on the internet real quick and it will take forever. It may be benefitial to add a pause scanning button, but that is just my opinion I don't know how others feel about it
It should definitely not affect your internet connection. However, if you're running an old pc, a BG scan might consume so much of its resources that it simply spends ages opening new apps.
But I guess it can't hurt to add it, for those times you have to start using your PC for some "serious" things, and don't want to redo the whole scan.Audentes Fortuna Iuvat
I added more ram to my pc and immediately noticed an improvement in bullguards scan time. I agree a pause button would be a very nice feature, particularly when you do need to do some 'serious' things as No-Dachi suggests. If BG doesn't add one, you could consider upgrading your ram as a possible alternative for cutting down scan times and to be able to do other tasks while scanning.
I can support the idea. Even if it doesn't affect the internet transmission it surely take up resources needed by the CPU - and if the netconnection needs some cpu, and bullguard takes up resources >>> it certainly affects ... not the netspeed, but the back and forth requirements as a respond to the net activity.
Aside from that - it WILL be nice to have a pause button. Not only as a merely comfortable feature but a much needed, since i have experienced that the real time enablements slows down my machine - windowed moded applications opens slower, responds to mouse button clicks take time to process a.s.o.
The other scanners i have experienced feels nice when it is possible to pause a scan.
The pause feature is not a must, but it will CERtainly increase the usability and friendliness of the product.
Intelligence without wisdom is an empty option: I don't have problems ... i have solutions !
I think its a worth while feature to have. Personally, a full scan pc takes over 3.5 hrs so I just leave it scanning while I'm away from home for whatever reason and its usually done by the time I get back :P- Crystalizer
It's an excellent Idea I was abit annoyed it didn't have this already myself as if I want to scan and then pause it and finish the scan later for what ever reason I can't becuase theres no pause button.
