Hello, this is not a gripe at Bullguard.....I just want to like my purchased version again now I'm using Windows Vista.

Sadly I have currently uninstalled my Bullguard and sent him out to the yard. lol

Here's the story then....I was very satisfied with Bullguard whilst using Windows XP but having just changed over to Vista Home Premium (32) I had a play around with Vista before putting on Bullguard finding my system with Vista very good, speedy quick when Browsing the internet and with no issues.

I then re-installed Bullguard 8 and my whole computer using experience slowed up.

Specific problems were regarding internet browsing which regularly slowed to a snails pace even sometimes causing lock up and breakdown in the internet connection showing I was offline and did I wish to connect. During lock up I could hear the hard drive churning. I also find/found an annoying habit with Bullguard in that it updates without letting you know it is in the process of doing so and seems to take away a lot of power.

I became so frustrated that I unistalled Bullguard to see if it was the cause of the slowing up and funnily enough.........Windows Vista now flies and runs beautifully.

I have a fairly low spec computer running on an Athlon XP2000 with 1.5 G of memory.

Is Bullguard having conflict issues with Windows Vista that it has not yet officially resolved.

I did contact support just before I went out and purchased Vista and they said Bullguard worked well with Vista and supported it.

Bullguard support are certainly doing their best to sort out the problem for me, I have been impressed with their customer support today......time will tell if I/we can try the latest advice and improve things now I've re installed for another go.

.
Well I've finally given up and have uninstalled Bullguard. I cannot fault the attempted help and suggestions  that was forthcoming from the Bullguard team by way of their help desk. It seemed however that every option that was suggested and that I tried simply did not work. I can only conclude that Bullguard and Windows Vista do not get on, on certain systems. I sincerely hope that the conflict be it the Windows Defender, or Firewall, or Spam filter, or amount of power Bullguard uses can be worked out. Until then I'm using AVG and will keep an eye out in the hope of a "patch" or fix. Windows Vista (for me) is working fine now that I have uninstalled Bullguard. My computer experience and use was all but hopeless on the internet in relation to IE when I had it installed.

Good News!! something has gone very right. After uninstalling and recently re installing Bullguard things are going along nicely with Bullguard nicely back in place. I'm not sure what has made things go right, possibly software updates? Anyway all is currently fine.
