I think there is just the "Do you need some help" button at the bottom of the Bullguard console which gives general advice on use. I have never seen any in depth explanation of every single feature.
For the maximum range of options use Advanced mode. Most of the features can be fairly easily understood with a little bit of exploration, and you can always ask Bullguard Support if there is something you do not understand. You normally get a reply within 1 hour.
You can also search back in this forum to see if your question has already been asked before.
Thanks for the reply, but it does not really help. I am not a complete computer illiterate, but since I have been living in a Tepee for the last twenty years, my jargon is a bit behind the times.
I am in fact using the advanced custom settings and making up rules to ban individual IP adresses, however the help files are pretty basic and I am sure I could get more out of the Firewall if I understood what all the different things meant.
This is particularly important at the moment since there is a bot that is continually attacking my ports and trying to install various nasties.
I have searced this site for simialar queries without much success. But at the end of the day, when I was a student I had a couple of little gems that could fit in my pocket and between them they would cover the entire scope of human knowledge necessary for life as an undergraduate.
Things have moved on, but I am sure that life as student has not changed much and !!!!! guides are still just as popular as they were in my day. Combien des route un garcon doit il faire, avent qui une homme il n'soit.
Hi, I have found a resource on the net which is reasonable and has many links to some good stuff including a definitve port listing. Here is the URL http://www.garykessler.net/library/tcpip.html#arch Hope you find it useful
