Ever since the Bullguard update installed without warning this morning and then told me to restart my PC, Bullguard has been displaying a box saying 'Failed to communicate with the file protection service.' (Error 0x41d; Step 5) on Windows (2000 sp4) startup.
 
Looking at the Bullguard control window I saw that 'Enable real-time file monitoring' was no longer ticked. Ticking this results (after a delay of several minutes) with an identical box appearing. :(
 
Is anyone else having this? Is there a solution?

Ok, on my own on this one <g>

Problem resolved by uninstalling Bullguard but tivking the box to keep existing settings then rebooting and reinstalling Bullguard. BG then performed the update again, I ebooted and everything is fine.
