Dear Richard,
I have examined the scan report you have submitted to BullGuard Support Team. Here is what you have to do in order to remove the pests from your computer:
1. manually delete the contents of these two folders: TEMP and Temporary Internet Files folders as they are known as virus' usual hiding place
2. manually remove the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hp100.tmp
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ld101.tmp
3. manually remove the following folders from your computer:
C:\Program Files\Warez P2P Client\
C:\Documents and Settings\Richard Philips\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\
4. in order to remove the infected files from your System Restore, please follow the instructions at www.bullguard.com/support/tip_system_restore.aspx
5. manually empty your Recycle Bin folder by right clicking it and choose the empty Recycle Bin option; make sure that you do this on all existing account on your computer
In order to delete the files from the Temporary folders or any other files, you may have to enter Windows in Safe Mode. To enter Windows in Safe Mode do as following: keep tapping the F8 key when the computers starts (before the Windows logo screen comes up) and when reaching the start up menu, please be sure to select the Safe Mode option.
Also, to make sure that you will find the above mentioned folders (TEMP and Temporary Internet Files) you need to enable the option Show Hidden Files and Folders. In order to enable it do as follows:
1. open My Computer
2. click on Tools
3. Folder Options
4. go to the View tab
5. search for the option Show Hidden Files and Folders and make sure it is enabled
It is not possible to delete both folders TEMP and Temporary Internet Files at the same time, but you can delete the folders one by one. To do so, just take the following steps:
A. For TEMP folder:
1. click Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools
2. in System Tools click on the Disk Cleanup utility
3. this tool will empty the TEMP folder
B. For the Temporary Internet Files:
1. open an Internet Explorer window
2. click on TOOLS->Internet Options
3. in the General tab you will have the buttons Delete cookies and Delete files (click the two buttons to get rid of cookies and files)
Kind regards
