| Thank you- And please excuse me for posting and resurrecting an old ded thred, which came up in a Google search. It just happened that Dave Nolan's 2004 problem was specifically applicable to my 2007 problem.
I just downloaded and checked the "old" version of jv16- And it is my bad that I did not get that one originally (It probably would have deleted the &^%$*^!@# out of all the Authentium poopoo that was bogging me up- And saved me all this time but ftwhuck, it is Sunday after all for me and I can waste my time if I want to! Heh).
I just got done: 1 hour to delete every entry in the registry relating to the sorry Cox program and then all of the little hidden files that are not located in one general area, but spread all around the PC.
I used RegCure (which was being Blocked from Running BY Pest Patrol) and cCleaner to delete the remaining Authentium-Specific entries.
Cox is getting a nasty letter about this... Can you believe they have based an ENTIRE "security suite" on Pest Patrol- And the uninstallation procedure is the same as Dave Nolan says: You gotta pay them to get rid of it. Cox neglected to include the Web-Uninstaller in the package... When you open Add/Remove Programs, the Cox suite has the uninstaller buttons BLANKED OUT.
The more I look at it, the more freakin incredible it is.
Thank you for your suggestions and if I continue to have problems with this, we'll open a new topic.
Oh Yes: I am attaching the Install Log file- No, wait.. The Install Log is almost 1 MB, so forget that! |
