My computer got hacked a while back when I ran it online briefly without a firewall. The hacker program installs itself concurrently with any windows operating system install, so it gives itself administrative priviledges which I cannot override, and a password I don't know. This hacker program sets up a number of WAN miniports on my machine which constantly relay data, from where and to where I haven't a clue. But they use up 100% of my processor time, essentially shutting me down. I did a Debug/Full Erase/Repartition/Format of my hard drive several times without result. Obviously, the bug is hiding somewhere other than my hard drive. A friend told me of someone he knew who ran across a bug which jumped from drive to CMOS and back again to preserve itself. So I tried pulling the CMOS reset jumper and the motherboard battery, which didn't help either. I can't install a new CMOS revision, because the install program 1)runs in windows, where the bug is already active, and 2)won't allow a reinstall of either the current revision or of an older one. I'm not even sure if this thing is in my CMOS or not. I know my CD-ROM has addressable, writable memory also, because I updated it a while back. For all I know there's writable memory on my sound card and and network cards as well. So, does anyone out there have experience with dealing with an invader such as this? I would appreciate any suggestions. I'm about to the point of pitching this computer in the garbage and getting a new one if I can't find a solution soon. PLEASE HELP!!!
