Hi,

I've got several problems with my computer.. and i'm not so good with all that virus & computer things, so i was hoping someone here could help me..
i've been using McAfee SecurityCenter about 1 year now.. but a couple of months ago i had to install my computer again and when i tried to install McAfee again..it said something about Missing Activeshield..

I tried to find Activeshield from internet to download itconfused  & in the Menu of McAfee itself ActiveShield is turned on, but when i start it, it says that Activeshield is missing or something like that confused (The virusscan of McAfee does work if i click on it, but it always says that my computer is virusfree)..

So i just gave it up and have downloaded some virusscans (like stinger..) from internet to still "protect" my computer a little bit..
But thats not working, all the virusscans say that i dont have virusses, but my computer is getting slower by day & it always "freeze" and all that weird stuff..

I was hoping that someone could tell me what to do & could see if i have any virusses (Hijacklog) that i can remove...

Please helppp !!   My computer is getting very irritating with the freezing and stufff.. !!

Here's the Hijacklog ( i thinktongue )..

I dont know if you have any bad stuff, but! you have a lot of running process that all take up memory and slow up the the PC.

To get the best perfomance, the startup programs should be kept to the bare minimum of security products: eg AVG antivrus, Zone Alarm firewall and Ewido anti spy. These are all free, but be sure to uninstall any other anti virus software before installing a new product, [same goes for firewalls,] antivirus software is particularly vulnerable to catastrophic conflicts.

The rest of the "utilities", dont actualy need to be running unless you are using them. You can easily edit the startup list using Winpatrol, it is also free and provides an extra layer of security.

A usefull trick is download an anti virus product to the desktop and use the task manager to kill everything except:-

* System Idle Process
* explorer.exe
* taskmgr.exe
* spoolsv.exe
* lsass.exe
* csrss.exe
* smss.exe
* winlogon.exe
* svchost.exe - (There will be a few of these)
* services.exe

Then install and run your new antivirus software, be sure you have uninstalled the old one first before commencing. Next run the Anti spyware from "Start", "All Programs". It doesn't always work, but I have used it succesfuly with a couple of nasties like SurfSideKick etc.

In general, you can greatly increase the performance by going to: Control Panel, System, then clicking the Advanced Tab click Perfomance Settings and selecting "performance" under visual effects and "programs" under "advanced"

In addition, extra toolbars and fancy toolbuttons slow up the PC and are a veritable gold mine for nasty stuff.
