Uninstalling BullGuard
Should you for some reason wish to uninstall BullGuard, here are detailed instructions on how to do this:
The best way to uninstall BullGuard is to use the standard Windows "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panel.
Go to the Windows Start menu (bottom left corner) and locate the Control Panel. Look and position of this may vary, depending on your Windows version.
Choose "Add/Remove Programs", locate "BullGuard" on the list that appears and choose "Remove".

Or, go to Start > BullGuard > choose the "Modify & Repair & Uninstall" option.

Confirm that you want to remove BullGuard.
BullGuard will now uninstall. When it's done, please restart your computer.
Should the automatic uninstallation of BullGuard fail, you can use our special uninstallation tool.
It is able to remove BullGuard from your computer, no matter if it has already been partly uninstalled.
Download Uninstall Tool For BullGuard.
Simply run this tool on your computer, and your BullGuard installation will be removed.
NOTE: Do not use this tool if you have a working installation of BullGuard 5.0 on your computer. It will be affected by the tool, and require a reinstallation afterward. If you intend to use BullGuard 5.0 on your computer, you should reinstall AFTER running this tool.
Third option to uninstall is to do it manually

Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Microsoft has created the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, which you can use to safely remove Windows Installer-related registry settings from your computer if a problem occurs.
After installing it, run Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from Start Menu\Programs\Windows Installer CleanUp. A window with a list of all the products installed with Windows Installer will appear. Choose BullGuard from that list and click the Remove button.
Windows NT based OS (Windows NT, 2000. XP)

To remove BullGuard manually, you need to delete some keys in the Registry. To do this you need to:
1) Click the "Start"-menu, and then click "Run".
2) Now type "regedit" and then click OK.
3) The Registry Editor will open and you can locate the keys.

2. Delete the BDMCon value name ("C:\Program Files\BullGuard\bdmcon.exe" value data) from the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry key;
3. Unregister the BullGuard Shell Extension server:
C:\>regsvr32 /u "%ProgramFiles%\BullGuard\bgshellex.dll" ;
4. Restart the computer;
5. Delete all BullGuard files/folders/shortcuts:
%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\BullGuard
%ProgramFiles%\BullGuard(default instalation path)
%CommonProgramFiles%\BullGuard
%windir%\system32\sockspy.dll
%windir%\system32\xcomm.dll ;
6. Restart the computer.
Windows 9x (Windows 98, ME)
============================
1. Delete the registry keys:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\BullGuard
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\BullGuard
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BullGuard
Delete the:
Value name: BDMCon (value data: C:\Program Files\BullGuard\bdmcon.exe)
Value name: BullGuard Virus Shield (value data: C:\Program Files\BullGuard\\vsserv.exe)
from the : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry key;
Value name: BullGuard Communicator (value data: C:\Program Files\Common Files\BullGuard Communicator\\xcommsvr.exe)
Value name: BullGuard Live! Init (value data: C:\Program Files\BullGuard\\bdinit.exe)
Value name: BullGuard Scan Server (value data: C:\Program Files\Common Files\BullGuard\BullGuard Scan Server\\bdss.exe)
from the : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices registry key;
2. Delete all BullGuard shortcuts:
C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\BullGuard
3. Restart the computer in MSDos mode
4. Delete all BullGuard files:
deltree /y c:\progra~1\bullgu~1
deltree /y c:\progra~1\common~1\bullgu~1
del /y %windir%\system\xcomm.dll
del /y %windir%\system\regspy.vxd
del /y %windir%\system\filespy.vxd
5. Restart the computer in Windows Mode.
